I'm not able to afford to water proof my basement at this time could you give me some reliable temporary fixes

can't afford to water proof my basement right now, I've used the hydralic stuff and patched all cracks that I was able to see ,but I still get flooding. I need a reliable temporary fix to stop the flooding until I'm able to have the water proofing done in about a year.

You can try the waterproofing paint. Might not help that much though if your cracks were that big.

You might also want to run a dehumidifier down there too.

What is the best and reasonably affordable water proof Makeup?

im going to my friends cabin and theres going to be a lot of cute guys there. what mascaras and foundations are waterproof. like i dont want any washing off in the lake!! the water proof makeups ive been using so far this summer havent been working too well.

The Best Way To Keep The Storage Tanks Of Water Heaters

These days, water heating is the second largest energy consumer after space heating. Therefore, it is important to ensure that your water heater is operating efficiently. Many things are involved when we talk about improving the performance of water heaters and these are standard electric tank units naturally vented, power vented and direct vented natural gas, propane, oil fired units, heat pump units and solar water heater units.

One thing you have to look into is to reduce the temperature setting for the water heater. On occasions when water is not heater, the storage tank loses its heat. With that, reduce the temperature setting so that a reduction in the amount of heat lost from the tank between uses will occur. For more information on water tanks check out Concrete Water Tanks.

Keeping in mind the temperature in the storage tank should not be lower than 50 to 55 degrees Celsius for gas fired units and 55 to 60 Celsius for electrically powered units to do away with bacterial growth. At the same time it is important to add tank insulation. It is important to install additional insulation to the tank to reduce the heat loss. It is not recommended to add insulation to a water heater that is fuelled by oil.

Keep in mind you have to replace the anode rod. Sometimes there are storage tanks that require a device called an anode rod to prevent it from corroding. The advances in the heating technology allow for the inclusion cold water supply tubes that act as anode rods.

Another thing you have to do as well is to clean the inside of the tank. Sediment from the intentional breakdown of the anode rod and from minerals in the water supply collects at the bottom of water heater tanks over time. The result of this is that the sediment reduces the efficiency of the water heater and may cause the water heater to wear out prematurely. The reason for cleaning this is to avoid the potential to promote the unhealthy growth of bacteria. It is always advised that other types of water heaters are cleaned out every six to 12 months.

At the same time it is good that you have the water heater inspected. An inspection will bring about the identification of the condition of the burners and heat transfer surfaces in fuel fired water heaters. Without this dirty burners and heat transfer surfaces reduce the performance of the water heater.

You may also want to check the temperature and pressure relief valve. The temperature and pressure relief valve on tank type water heaters is a safety feature designed to prevent catastrophic failures of the water heater. Whenever either the temperature or pressure in the tank exceeds certain limits, the valve will open.

Since these valves are not always open, it is common for them to stick closed, increasing the severity of problems that could arise if the water heater should fail. When you want to reduce heat loss from the bottom of the tank, install the water heater on a piece of plywood over rigid insulation.
