What's wrong with the brush that comes with blush or eyeshadow?

People always say not to use the brush that comes with some Blush Compact, or not to use the eyeshadow applicator that comes with the Eyeshadow Compact.

Why? What difference does a Brush Make when Applying Makeup?

The problem with the brushes that come with most blush is that they're too small to adequately apply blush to the face. They tend to leave blush that isn't very spreadable looking streaky. A bigger, rounder brush is much better for blush application. As for the Eyeshadow Brush, I will sometimes use that, but it depends on where on my lid I'm actually applying the eyeshadow. (the crease, the lower lid, etc.) It also depends on the type of eyeshadow I'm using. If the eyeshadow is a wet shadow or damp, I find that the foam brush tends to absorb some of it, thus wasting it. I'll use it for Powder Eyeshadow sometimes though.
